AT&T Business Solutions Completes Fourth Quarter with New Features for the AT&T Telepresence Solution and Moves to Expand Its Wi-Fi Capabilities through the Company's Wayport Acquisition

New features for the AT&T Telepresence Solution and the acquisition of Wi-Fi service provider Wayport, Inc., capped a successful fourth quarter 2008 for AT&T Business Solutions (ABS). These accomplishments, as well as key sales wins and enhancements to its business services portfolio, helped the business unit enter 2009 on firm footing.

The enhancements to the AT&T Telepresence Solution, based on Cisco TelePresence technology, now provide unique multipoint functionality and highly secure intercompany capabilities that allow users at multiple locations and from different companies to connect with each other. AT&T Business Solutions Positioned in Analyst Firm's Leaders Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers

AT&T Business Solutions today announced that leading industry analyst firm Gartner, Inc. has positioned it in the Leaders Quadrant in their latest report for global network service providers¹.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant report offers a visual snapshot of a market's direction, maturity and participants. In the report, Gartner evaluates vendors of global network service providers on the basis of completeness of vision and ability to execute.

Fujitsu Signs AT&T Managed Networking Services Contract for Telepresence Deployment

AT&T Business Solutions announced today that Fujitsu in North America has signed a two-year contract for a fully managed Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) and Integration Solutions supporting a High Definition Telepresence system.

AT&T Integration Solutions portfolio will provide Fujitsu with a complete networking and equipment design for Telepresence along with global project management of its AT&T system implementation and testing between Sunnyvale, Calif., and Kawasaki, Japan.

Fujitsu, which considers the green impact in all that it does, has been deeply committed to safeguarding the environment for current and future generations. AT&T Nearing Completion of Program to Move 5,000 Outsourced Jobs Back In-House

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced that it has achieved a major milestone in its program to move some 5,000 high-tech jobs that had previously been outsourced back to the payrolls of AT&T's U.S. operating companies. The vast majority of the jobs had been placed offshore by contract vendors.

The company has met its goal of bringing back on shore and in-house more than 3,000 jobs that previously had been outsourced by BellSouth outside the U.S., and it met its goal of completing this repatriation before the end of 2008. The bulk of these jobs are now located in broadband support centers in North Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Kentucky, with most of the others scattered across states in the Southeast.
